Hong Kong - February 06, 2007 - The I-Consulting Group ICG has won the 2006 Hong Kong Awards for Industries Innovation and Creativity Certificate of Merit, a highly acclaimed award organized by the seven renowned organizations in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Awards for Industries was coordinated by the committee chaired by Director-General of Trade and Industry with membership drawn from trade and industrial organizations and industrial support bodies in Hong Kong.

The Seven Organizations are The Federation of Hong Kong Industries; the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Retail Management Association; the Business Environment Council; the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; the Hong Kong Productivity Council; and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

The Awards Scheme covers 7 categories and run by different organizations (known as the "leading organizer").The Innovation and Creativity Award was organized by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

In the rapid changes of the operating environment, Hong Kong companies need to reassess and reposition themselves to stay ahead in the competitive and changing market. Thus innovation and creativity are vital to success. Companies use their innovative ideas to upgrade the quality of products and services in adapting new business concepts, and help enhance the competitiveness in this market. This award is to recognize the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong enterprises in their move towards higher technology and higher value-added activities.

The I-Consulting Group ICG was awarded the Innovation and Creativity Certificate of Merit, this year there are 308 applicants applied to the Hong Kong Awards for Industries. ICG was founded in Hong Kong in 2002, was awarded the certificate in recognition of the considerable achievement by the company.

The Judging Panel has commented: "ICG is the first IT Outsourcing provider in Hong Kong to apply preventive technology to Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), hitherto a technology used only by large companies." "ICG's Innovative concepts fill the gap between the big global ITO firms and local ITO firms, helping SMEs by preventing IT problems before they occur, also ICG's Corporate Innovative culture is strong, as 8 out of 20 stimuli in the company's corporate principles are to propel innovation and creativity.

The awards were presented by The Hon. Henry Tang, Financial Secretary of HKSAR at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre during the Award Presentation Gum Gala Dinner.
